Best Folding Bike? Dahon Mu XL Sport
The Dahon Mu XL Sport has been hailed as one of the best small wheel bikes available to date. This little speedster is the next generation Mu SL, everything has improved – the ride, the comfort and now its easier to maintain than ever before.
Reaching a maximum speed of 8M/H and weighing only 11.4kg this folding bike is set to be one of the frontrunners in the light weight classes. This stylish sports model is the perfect urban runaround – for exercise, for fun for whatever!
The trademark curve makes this Dahon bike easy on the eye and aids in the quick fold away that takes up only 35X80X66 cm. You could literally sling this feather weight over your shoulder and carry it home.
What separates this model from the previous CL model is that it contains a Shimano Nexus 8 Premium hub. So much easier to maintain on those city commutes. Because of this excellent hub the Mu XL Sport has been awarded the title of ‘lightest hub geared bike’ available, anywhere.
Together with the uniquely Dahon patented frame, V-clamp and fusion technology this sporty urban classic is bound to turn heads. In attractive gun metal gray, the XL Sport comes with all the added extras. A luggage bracket, a kickstand, mudguards and a reflective pants clip are just some of the accessories you can enjoy on your Mu.
Is it the best folding bike out there? Probably not, but for the attention to detail, refined technology and special convenience it’s all you will ever need. It also fits squarely into your luggage and yet has Dahon’s Special edition Schwalbe Kojak tires, for endless grip, handling and speed.
So what’s the damage on such a revolutionary urban bike? This city crawler will set you back $1,199. It’s well worth the signature ride a small wheeled bike can give you during your busy lifestyle. A true sports upgrade for the discerning cyclist.

LOL, “Reaching a maximum speed of 8M/H”
I regularly top 20mph on mine!
Excellent bike, I’ve had it 9 months and done about 1,500 miles. You just need to tighten a few bolts every few hundred miles.
downhill speeds don’t count
